The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) successfully hosted the 5th year of the JDC West Business Competition in Prince George, B.C. The student-run competition ran January 15 – 17, 2010 and had more than 700 participants including the top undergraduate business students from across Western Canada, countless volunteers, judges and sponsors.
The delegates came from 10 universities throughout Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) and united to compete in the 2010 competition. For two days, the students battled in academic case studies, debate, social challenges and a round-robin soccer tournament which was the athletic portion of the competition.

This year’s theme was “Humanitarian Leadership” and that was successfully accomplished by raising more than $160,000 for charities across Western Canada. In conjunction with this theme, the Honourable Lieutenant-General Romeo Dallaire was the guest speaker at the Gala and Awards Dinner. He inspired more than 800 attendees.
