Quinne Davey

Want to know who is registered to attend conference 2010? Want to chat with a speaker directly? Now you can!

BC HRMA is excited to offer those registered for conference the opportunity to network prior to attending conference via a virtual online community created through Ning.com. Join other attendees, conference presenters and BC HRMA staff for all the latest information and updates about the 2010 Conference.

“Ning is an exciting new feature for this year’s conference. This is such a great opportunity for conference attendees to get revved-up on a whole new level,” said Lynn Webb-Thomas, conference director. “Simply using this virtual platform expands your knowledge for learning, sharing ideas and networking. My hope is that everyone who registers for conference takes advantage of this valuable resource and joins in!”

This online community is exclusive to conference attendees. Once you have registered for conference you will receive an email invitation to join the BC HRMA conference networking site. Click on the link and follow the directions to set up your profile and wait for final approval. You will receive notification once your membership has been approved by our administrators and then you are all set to go!

Ning incorporates the best of today’s social networking sites. Here are a few to look forward to:

·         Forum – post questions specific to conference or to a particular presentation you are attending; collaborate with the presenter beforehand to really get the most out of your breakout session.

·         Videos – watch some short videos by our speakers to get those ideas flowing.

·         Groups – do you have a group of people with common interests related to conference? Maybe you all live in the same town and want to discuss shared transportation options? Start a group on the Ning site and connect with others in your community.

The Ning conference network will be available for several weeks after conference to help attendees share their experiences with others. After that the site will be removed. But don’t worry; the association has another exciting platform that will be launched for BC HRMA members. Keep an eye out for more information at BC HRMA’s conference booth.

Start the conversation. Join the conversation. It's your community!
