Phase Two of #WTHR? Contest to Begin: What Would You Do For an iPad2?

Who thought HR would take so well to the world of social media?  When the British Columbia Human Resources Association (BC HRMA) went looking for new ways to get the word out about the upcoming Marketplace & Conference 2011 – both featuring Kevin O’Leary of Dragon’s Den renowned – the social media opportunity opened up.

The end result has been playing out on the association’s @bchrma Twitter account, most specifically via the #WTHR? tag.   Phase One of the jumble shared five clues over five days and sent participants to various online pages in search of key phrases to solve a word jumble. Phase Two of #WTHR? takes Twitter into the real world – all in one day.

Congratulations to our Phase One winner, Monica T. who picked up a pair of tickets to Kevin O’Leary’s “Up Close and All Business” session on April 13th at Marketplace, as well as a $250 Visa gift card.  This time around, we’re upping the ante further, condensing the timeline and putting an iPad2 in the winner’s corner.

Moreover, if you want to play, you need to make your way to Marketplace – either for the public tradeshow on April 13 or the day after as an attendee of BC HRMA’s 49th Annual Conference. Each of the clues for the new #WTHR? word jumble will take you to various booths around the Marketplace floor.

How does it work? Five clues, five booths, one answer to be direct messaged (DM’d) or dropped into the ballot box at the BC HRMA booth.  This time around, all five clues will be released en masse a day early, on April 12 to provide everyone with ample opportunity to plan their pitstops on the Marketplace floor at the Vancouver Exhibition Centre.

Once more, the solution to the #WTHR?  jumble – in keeping with the ‘Complexity Made Simple’ theme of Conference 2011 – casts light on the evolving role of HR in the broader business paradigm.

Sounds simple and promises another level of opportunity for any and all attending the BC HRMA Marketplace next week on April 13, 2011.  If you have not picked up tickets for Kevin O’Leary and Michael Campbell’s interview & reception, the invitation to join two of the country’s top business minds remains open.

In the meantime, stay tuned to #WTHR? and follow us @bchrma.
