“If people are being paid to think, isn’t it time the business world found out what the thing doing the work, the brain, is all about?”
– Dr. David Rock

The plenary session with Dr. Rock — From Human Resources to Neuro Resources: What Neuroscience Means for HR — is causing a buzz among delegates. His session will explain the basic physiology of how the brain works and why HR professionals need to understand it.

Dr. Rock’s research shows that learning about the emotional centre of the brain (the limbic system), the thinking centre (the prefrontal cortex) and how these systems work together can help leaders to understand how to manage people better.  Understanding brain function (individually and collectively) can help optimize many of the top challenges of HR leadership such as:

  • implementing organizational change
  • feeding innovation
  • increasing productivity
  • improving communication
  • enhancing employee engagement
  • facilitating effective collaboration … plus more

An Australian researcher, author and coaching consultant, Dr. Rock brings neuroscientists and leadership experts together in a new science for leadership development. He is the author of four books including Your Brain at Work and Quiet Leadership.

Dr. Rock knows how the brain works and, more specifically, how it works in a work setting.  Don’t miss his plenary session at 2:00pm on Thursday April 26th.
