BC HRMA proudly celebrates the success of those who attain the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.

The CHRP designation represents a commitment to a national standard of excellence, sets a benchmark for the practice of effective human resources, and emphasizes the strategic role of HR. Those who earn the national designation are among the most accomplished professionals in business today.

This past year saw the last National Professional Practice Assessment exam. Now, to earn the CHRP designation once must pass the National Knowledge Exam, hold a degree from an accredited post-secondary institution and complete an experience assessment.

Congratulations to all 2013 CHRP graduates!

To recognize the achievement of the new CHRPs, BC HRMA hosted many regional celebrations:

Central Interior
The Central Interior CHRP recognition event was held in December at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Kamloops as part of the regional Annual Holiday Jingle Mingle. Guest speaker and BC HRMA CEO Simon Evans, CHRP spoke on the past, present and future developments of the CHRP designation. A particularly jolly time was had as the new CHRPs enjoyed the evening’s festivities and full Christmas dinner.

Coastal Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver
The Coastal Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver Advisory Councils combined forces to celebrate and recognize the newest CHRP recipients in their respective regions.

It was true celebration held at Rogue, Convention Centre, on March 4th. Several special guests were present including Shannon Joly, CHRP Board Chair; Tyler Cheyne, CHRP Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council Chair; Dee Sharma, CHRP, Fraser Valley Advisory Council Chair; and Rocky Ozaki, CHRP, Greater Vancouver Advisory Council Chair.  The event could not happen without the generous support of long time sponsor Carman Overholt, QC of Overholt Law.

While not all were in attendance, special acknowledgement was given to the regional top scorers of the final NPPA exam. These special honours went to Jeremy Bara (formerly of the Central Interior region), Lisa Chen, and Vancy Li in the CV region; Jennifer Mitchell, Ravleen Sandu, Juanita Selvadurai-Chen, and Bethany Willms in the FV region; Theresa De Foiard Brown and Holly Lundrigan in the GV region.
