BC-based Human Resources Management Association (HRMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Ariganello as the organization’s new chief executive officer effective Monday, June 2nd, 2014.

The announcement was made at the 52nd annual HRMA Conference + Tradeshow in Vancouver April 15-16, attended by more than 1000 delegates from BC and Yukon.

For the past 11 years, Ariganello has served as president and CEO of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada), a self-regulating association of 75,000 students and accounting professionals. During this period, CGA-Canada achieved international recognition as a leading accounting designation. Previously, Ariganello was president of Montreal-based Avon Canada, and also held senior-level financial positions including that of controller at Nortel Networks.

“It gives me great pleasure to be joining the Human Resources Management Association,” Ariganello said. “I look forward to serving the members above all, and to continue to build on the strong legacy already in place.”

Ariganello was selected as HRMA’s new CEO after a comprehensive executive search process. He replaces outgoing CEO Simon Evans CHRP, who is retiring after a decade with the association. Utilizing a lifetime of experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, Evans employed a strategy of “Voice, Value and Viability” to financially stabilize the association within three years of his appointment, increase association membership 100 per cent, and tripled the number of members holding, or pursuing, their CHRP designation. Evans was awarded an Honourary Life Membership in HRMA at the conference.
